Overview

Sonatus Vehicle Personalization is a toolkit that lets automakers add user-defined, automated personalization routines to vehicles without heavy new code. It combines an application SDK, a cloud portal, and an in-vehicle Automator runtime so OEMs can provide end users — from individual owners to fleet managers — the ability to create “if-this-then-that” routines that adjust HVAC, seating, lighting, drive modes, media and integrations with home/IoT systems across the vehicle lifecycle. The solution is built to scale to mass-market vehicles by lowering development cost and enabling continuous feature delivery.

Features and Capabilities

• Core components: The solution includes an application SDK for OEM apps, a cloud portal to manage user preferences and routines, and an in-vehicle Automator runtime that orchestrates and executes personalization workflows.
• No-code / low-code orchestration: Automator provides a no-code automation framework so OEMs can define routines and rules in the cloud and deploy them to vehicles without full new software builds. This accelerates time-to-market and enables rapid experimentation.
• End-user facing apps and SDK: OEMs receive an SDK to build smartphone, IVI and web apps that allow drivers to author, store, and share personalization routines (e.g., arrival modes, highway modes, home-arrival interactions).
• Cloud management & scale: Cloud services store preferences, manage fleet-level policies, and enable targeted deployments and updates across vehicle lifecycles—designed to operate at mass-market scale.
• Safety & policy controls: Built-in safety interlocks and OEM policy controls ensure automation routines cannot create unsafe vehicle states; enterprise controls allow fleet/OEM governance.
• Third-party integration & partners: Designed to integrate with OEM IVI systems, vehicle control domains, and partner stacks (examples include integrations/demos with Marelli and AWS for cloud/IVI integration).
• Use cases & personalization scope: Automate cabin ambiance, seat/steering positions, HVAC, driving mode selection, media playlists, and interactions with smart home/IoT devices; supports both individual owner personalization and fleet profiles.
• Deployment & OTA friendliness: The framework is intended to minimize heavy OTA or embedded software changes by pushing routine definitions and app logic through the cloud and SDKs, simplifying feature rollouts across models and trims.
